Mom is Golden

May 10, 2018

This weekend is Mother’s Day and I hope you are planning to do something, say something, to make mom feel special. Moms are more valuable than all the gold in Fort Knox. They make good things happen every day. Everything just works better for all of us when mom is on board, listening, caring, and guiding. Go Mom, you rock!

Whether you are the biological mom of a houseful of hungry faces, adoptive mom, foster mom, or just a mom figure to the neighbor kid without their mom, you deserve special recognition every day. Never forget moms. Some of Jesus final words on the cross were concerns for his earthly mom.

John 19:26-27 NIV. “26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, ‘Dear woman, here is your son,’ 27 and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.”

This weekend at Journey worship gathering, Sat@6pm/Sun@10:30am. we will share part three

in the current series, Valued. Lesson one we discovered even when others question our value because of a moral compromise, God promises it’s not over. Even when mistakes are made and regrets begin to linger God helps us recover; it’s not over. God is for everyone.

Last weekend we learned when lonely and desperate people, have lost all hope, ready to die, God can resurrect our dreams. Never give up on God. He has a plan even when you can’t see it or understand it. There is a process and purpose to everything in life. Give God a chance to reveal what He is doing. If you missed any of these lessons the audio podcast messages are on our website www.journeychurchsite.org and Journey app for you to listen at your leisure.

This weekend, Mother’s Day weekend we’ll explore the story of a lady who has lost her dignity and can’t imagine things getting better. If you have felt under valued or under qualified lately this lesson may give you hope and encouragement again. This would also be a great weekend to invite someone who has lost their mom.

Gathering with others on Mother’s Day can help everyone find new value in doing mom-like things each day in the world. We are hoping you can come and join us and bring a new guest or returning guest. Journey is a place everyone can belong.

Thanks Moms for everything. You’re the best.
