Even if you only sing in the shower, ’tis the season.” Christmas is now only twelve days away. Can you remember being a kid and waiting for Christmas? The anticipation was nearly more than a person could bare. Whatever your generation, I hope you are excited to celebrate the event that changed the world forever.
As the angel said, “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 NIV
This weekend we explore part two of our Christmas 2018 series. And in this episode we’ll consider the significance of God’s Name at Christmas. What’s In A Name? Have you ever thought about it? How did you get your name? Someone decided your name has a purpose and meaning that matters. The same is true about God’s Christmas Name. Seriously, not the baby Jesus version, but the real Christmas name of Jesus, Immanuel, which means, “God with us.” Mt 1:23 NIV
What does it really mean that God is always with us, through life; through thick and thin, for better or worse, from beginning to end? We’ll explore that question with an interesting twist to consider and apply. I promise we will make this a relevant Bible conversation to share during your Christmas conversation.
Why not bring a guest and let them check things out at place like Journey where everyone can find a place to belong. Remind them we have two services to choose from each weekend. Saturday @ 6pm and Sunday @ 10:30am. We do this because we are aware of how packed our schedules can be. We really mean it when we say we’re in this together. We’ll do almost anything to make your day better tomorrow than it was today.
We believe that is why Jesus left heaven to come and live with us. So everyone could have a better day.
We hope you’ll join us this weekend and share another chapter from our Christmas 2018 worship series.
No matter how tough your week may be, remember, He is with… us.
