Probably most of us have some idea how much money is in our personal bank account. If we have a full-time job and our pay check is direct deposited, we’re probably aware which day it is. We may also have a financial advisor who helps us direct our savings and retirement funds in the mot beneficial manner.
I think most of us know a lot about our cash flow, bank accounts, and savings for the future. But what about our personal worth and value excluding wealth and resources? Have you considered your impact in the world and community where you live each day?
The Bible clearly explains a persons true value is never tied to wealth and riches. Our real worth is found in representing God and Jesus and His Church in our world and community each day. Here are some of Jesus words on that.
“19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 NIV.
This weekend we wrap up the current series, Build Strong. For the last four weeks we’ve explored building strong relationships with people often overlooked, building strong connections and sharing life with all kinds of people, building strong love through sacrifice like Jesus on the Cross, and building strong community with worship and fellowship.
In this final look together on the weekend we explore how to Build Strong Missions. We learn a Jesus follower goes out into the community like a missionary. Our goal is to build strong relationships, connecting with people, loving all kinds of people, and sharing every day life with them.
This weekend as we wrap things up in this series we review the mission of Journey Community Christian Church. We are strategically and purposefully different than inward focused churches. We are outward focused to meet and serve people who don’t go to any church. Through extreme kindness and caring we want to win them over for God. We exist to BE the church for the people, who don’t know yet, God is for them; not just GO to church.
Join us this weekend at Journey and invite a new guest. Especially someone who maybe has never considered church could be a place for them. Offer to give them a ride or meet them at the Journey door. Sit with them when they arrive and give them a look around the Journey worship gathering. If they like a small audience our Saturday @ 6pm would fit them just right. Our Sunday @ 10:30am time is not too early for most folks. Coffee is free and smiles and greetings are abundant.
Journey Church is usually a great experience for most people. They tell us so in their feedback most every time. Your greatest worth today may be in being a friend to someone else who is looking for something missing in their life. Tell them how important Jesus and His church have been to you.
Your personal words of encouragement have influence and are more valuable than money.
