As the 2019/2020 NCAA Men’s College basketball tournament brackets are revealed this Sunday every coach wants their team to stay positive. This is good advice for everyone in the world today.
With the stock market plunging and more cases of COVID19 around the world the natural thing is to become nervous. Nerves are not the answer in sports or life. Author, Max Lucado shares in his book, “How Happiness Happens,” encouraging words his wife shared with a dis-couraged friend in a text message.
Here was the admonishment she wrote: “Jesus can move mountains, so he can and will act on your behalf! He loves you, so receive his love and power. Quit doubting the King of kings and Teacher of all teachers. Believe in him, and step in the resurrection power that is already yours in Christ Jesus. He is who he says. Believe him! The Lord exposes our weaknesses so we’ll come to him and find our rest and hope in him. He wants you to come to him and stop imagining terrible scenarios. Has he not brought you this far? That’s the Creator of the ends of the earth in your court, on your side. He is for you, not against you. Trust in him! Worship him! Take your position in praise and prayer, and he will set ambushes for the Enemy.”
As Max Lucado writes, “Goodness gracious, would that text not stir your spirit?” If there is ever a time we need to spread words of hope, and prayers of faith, this is it. (James 5:15). Help spread good vibes that believing God more, trusting God more will put everyone back on their feet.
This weekend at Journey we begin a new phase spring series, I QUIT. We explore together the next (4) four weekends its time everyone became more positive and renewed with more confidence in themselves. This weekend we examine the theme, I QUIT… MAKING EXCUSES. God is for us and not against us. He is invested for the long haul to help write a better story. It’s not too late and never over for anyone.
Join us and bring a guest to Journey Sat@6pm or Sun@10:30am. If you’re unable to join us in person follow along with us Sunday morning at 11am on our Journey FB livestream. We are all better together, even when you choose to follow online.
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31 NIV. Keep spreading those kind of good vibes everywhere you go.
