We have all come to appreciate the many unnamed heroes each day and week who continue to provide medical care, food service, and delivery services through various methods and means which have become complicated during COVID19.
Today is the annual National Day of Prayer in America. This year because of COVID19 the event will be virtual, but certainly, just as powerful none the less. God hears every prayer and He will hear every spoken request today in the world. Pray a lot today.
This is a great moment to include all those unnamed essential workers I mention above who provide services and goods during this unusual time. The longer this period of isolation has continued the more obvious this realization has sunk in; every single job is essential. Our economy is now severely crippled and small businesses are clinging to hope their business will return in a profitable way, sooner than later.
Families are trying to adjust to home schooling around kitchen tables and childcare in their living rooms. This new normal and reality for many families also clarifies the role of mom and dad who have essential jobs as well. This weekend is Journey Community Christian Church Mother’s Day 2020 on the calendar.
Like every weekend worship gathering the last eight or nine weeks, Mother’s Day services at Journey will be virtual online FB livestream Saturday@6pm and Sunday@10:30am. Journey Church continues to follow the social distancing guidelines with no in-person gathering larger than ten people. I promise to do my best to make the message as helpful and inspiring for everyone who joins with us online.
I will make it very clear what Mother’s Day is really all about. Mom’s are trending all over the world right now; every mom has an essential job. We don’t need a holiday to tell us that. The whole world would be sunk if not for your/my MOM. Way to go mom.
We need your help at Journey now, more than ever. Thank you for your financial gifts and your your prayers. Help us spread the word that Journey Church is a place everyone could find a home. God is for everyone, not everyone knows. We have to tell everyone. Invite a new Journey guest to check things out and hop online Journey Church Cynthiana Facebook page with us; or catch the recorded version later www.journeychurcrchsite.org
One final thing before Mother’s Day weekend at Journey. If you missed the Journey elders announcement this week, on FB Monday morning update, after prayer and consideration the elders have decided Journey Community Christian Church is ready to re-open for in-person services Memorial Day weekend May 23/24.
The Governor has announced May 20 for reopening churches in Kentucky. We have already begun discussing NEXT STEPS for our safe return to public gathering larger than ten. As the Governor announces final guidelines we will announce plans for making this transition go safely and smoothly.
We have God and each other. We have everything we need. Remember to pause throughout the day, saying prayers for the world. National Day of Prayer is perfect time to fill the sky with positive words of God’s amazing, power.
He is a way maker and miracle worker. Go God!
