Celebrate & Enjoy

With additional restrictions being lifted in Kentucky and neighboring states more of us are looking forward to school dismissal for the summer and family vacations. This will certainly be a busy time as people try putting everything lost or delayed last year back on their 2021 summer plans. I am excited about all the potential possibilities for churches, families, and local small businesses which have struggled for months.

We may be facing a different and new challenge this summer? How will I get everything done before school starts this fall? Memorial Day weekend has always signaled the start of a busy summer. This year may set new records as families travel and enjoy longer trips together exploring fun places.

Our coming out of winter and into summer sets us up for what we talk about this weekend at Journey Community Christian Church. We wrap up our six week series, which we titled, God did WHAT? We have looked at the unusual things God will do to have a personal conversation and relationship with people just like us.

We have taken a look at a few of the Bible characters where God did weird and unusual things to get someone’s attention. This final weekend we are looking at Jonah who is known the world over, as the guy who got swallowed by a big fish. Wow, how in the world did that happen? Join us this weekend Journey Sat@6pm or Sun@10:30am in person or online as we share Jonah and his great adventure to the bottom of the sea.

What might all of us learn from Jonah this weekend at Journey worship? People like us can become frustrated even with God. Here is the bottom line: Obey God even when you don’t understand or agree. Also, open our heart and mind to change and opportunity; something new God may be doing in our world.

Looking forward to seeing you in person or online soon. Let’s begin making plans to celebrate summer together more often. God is seldom early but He is never late. Our door of opportunity is widening with warmer weather and fewer concerns with COVID19.

Let’s make new plans to celebrate picnics, backyard barbecues, and trips together building new memories. Go God. He has been helping our world through difficult challenges for months. Don’t forget to rejoin

our gathering times to celebrate with worship for One who makes life possible.

If you have not been back in person for worship yet, or inside a favorite restaurant, this weekend could be the right time for you again. Step outside and then inside as you enjoy time with others. If you are still unclear what is right for you, we understand. Just hop online with our message time and communion time; stay connected. We are better together.

I promise, we will WELCOME you home at the Journey front door every weekend. After the pandemic no one is going to take for granted the privilege to gather with our family and friends for worship times. Go God!
