Christmas Day falls a little different on our calendars this year. December 25th is a Saturday this time. Journey Community Christian Church is presenting a two-part Christmas series beginning this weekend, titled THE GIFT. This weekend, December 18/19 we’ll share traditional Christmas music and message from the Bible (Matthew 1:18fl). This Sat/Sun at Journey Church we celebrate the birth of baby Jesus born in Bethlehem: God’s GIFT to the entire world.
The following weekend, Dec 25/26 we’ll present part-two, THE GIFT. Again, we’ll have traditional Christmas music and another Bible message; this time the text in (Luke 2:1fl). Once we receive our GIFT, Jesus our Savior, the next part is sharing this GIFT of Jesus with others. It would be unthinkable to keep the GIFT only for ourselves.
Make plans to join us this weekend at Journey Church in person or online for part one of our 2021 Christmas message. Invite a guest to join you as we have really Good News for the world. When the angels appeared to the shepherds long ago, they said:
“That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. ‘Don’t be afraid!’ he said. ‘I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all the people. The Savior - yes, the Messiah, the Lord - has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David. And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.’ ” Luke 2:8-12 NLT
If you know someone (maybe you) terrified of churches and the people who go there, reassure them, Jesus changes everything. If you know someone fearful and anxious (maybe you) about the chaos and uncertainty of our lives today, reassure them, baby Jesus, born in Bethlehem, Savior of the world, changes everything!
