Have You Met Grace?

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV

If you were fortunate enough to be named by your parents, “Grace,” at birth, you were blessed. Most people smile when you walk in the room. We immediately associate an act of kindness whenever the word grace is spoken anywhere. Who hasn’t enjoyed someone saying “grace” before a meal? Here is a shout out to all the people named “Grace”.

This weekend at Journey our schedule changes temporarily. We do not have our normal Sat@6pm service. Instead we are hosting our Journey Annual picnic 5-9pm inside the Journey building. We hope you can join us for a time for great food and terrific conversation with other Journey regulars. We have planned for a kids area to help occupy their attention and provide a fun experience as well.

Those who normally worship with us at Journey Sat@6pm are asked to consider joining our Journey Sun@10:30am audience, either in-person or online. We will take a look again at our current fall series VITAL CHURCH. This weekend we discover the best people to have on your team are those who are passionate for God and people, promoting God’s grace in every opportunity.

Those people who are rigid and “bossy” may not make the best team. Sometimes in public and private, those who laugh more, helping others laugh more, get more out of life. If you are ready to lead and guide others with confidence this lesson will surely give you some pointers to consider. An older, wiser Apostle Paul is coaching a younger man, Titus how to relate most effectively with everyone in the room.

I promise this is the kind of advice everyone can use at home, work, or school every day. If you would like more people to celebrate your arrival as you walk into the room, this message is for you. By using more grace we can help God grow stuff, living stuff that never dies. People matter most.

Hey, even difficult people need to meet Jesus. Jesus changes everything. Tell others, “Come and See,” I’ve found the One we’ve all been looking for. Let them know Jesus is for everybody. Once again the song on KLOVE gets it right, “I’m just a nobody, telling everybody, about Somebody who saved my soul.”

So once again, here is the temporary schedule for the weekend. Join us for the Journey Picnic Saturday 5-9. INVITE a friend to be our GUEST for good food and warm welcome. If you are a Saturday Journey@6 regular don’t forget Sun@10:30am is an option. INVITE your guest to check things out at Journey Sun@10:30am worship in-person and online.

Join us however you can. Let us introduce you and a GUEST to one of our best forever friends, “Grace!”
