Seeking Good Advice

Whether it is finding the cheapest gas in town or where to find groceries on the shelf, we appreciate a tip that leads to rewards. The Bible is filled with words; over 800,000 in modern translations. We have to read it often to benefit from the instructions for life. Knowing God BETTER makes everyone and everything BETTER. Reading the Bible more often, worry less, is not cliche.

Each word, line and paragraph bring encouragement, inspiration, and guidance for achieving our life goals, dreams and ambitions. The Bible also is the one true roadmap that brings renewed hope. Here is a favorite passage in the Bible which may remind us how deep and wide and far-reaching is God’s love for us.

“The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT

As you just read these 22 words in the Bible = let them sink in for a moment. Don’t rush away too quickly. Whatever yesterday was, no matter the disappointment, discouragement, or heartache, God is working on things already as you arise, awakened to a new day! Try not lingering too long with hardship from yesterday. God is bigger than our problems. He is working on things as we sleep, turning things around.

Trust God more, follow God more, believe God more and read His word more often. This is really good advice for all of us. When searching around town for a price break or two with your current grocery budget or fuel costs, don’t forget to check in with God each day, before going out the door.

Friday, July 8th is Connie and my 50th Wedding Anniversary. We are out of town for a few days to reflect and celebrate. Bryan Martinez, Youth Minister at Journey Church, will be speaking this weekend. He has a message from the Bible which will inspire, encourage, and motivate you to be your best version. Give him your attention and support.

If you are are in town this weekend, join Bryan and the worship team on stage for Journey Sat@6pm or Sun@10:30am. Show your love to God and be there, joining Journey Church and invite a seat buddy, a guest to join you.

Here is my best advice today: Whatever you planned and scheduled for your weekend ahead, include God and Journey Church worship gathering (Sat or Sun) with family and friends. Jesus is for everybody. Not everybody knows. We have to tell everybody.

Connie and I will be back after the weekend, looking forward to beginning another short summer series with you from the Bible. Thank you for the cards, well wishes, and congrats on our wonderful 50th Anniversary.
