Giving FAQ
Online Giving Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
01
Why should I consider giving online?
Churches who desire to be relevant today listen to the "customer" (the audience). Journey is setting up online giving, because the internet is so widely used today. To promote Church from the internet is a huge advantage. One of the reasons to consider online giving is the convenience is holds for the giver. For example, Jim gives consistently on the weekend, but he has to be out of town 2 weeks of every month. When Jim sets up automatic donations, he is still able to give when he is out of town. Another reason to consider online giving is consistency of gifts to Journey Church. At Journey, our passion is to Love Jesus, Love Others, and Serve the World. In order to do that, we need more consistent gifts and givers. For example, Jim drops $50 dollars in the plate when it is passed. But he is out of town 2 weeks of the month. Jim was able to donate $100 to Journey in that month. With online automatic giving Jim would have had the opportunity to donate $200 in that same month. Jesus says that we are more blessed when we give than when we receive (Acts 20:35). We rob people of an opportunity to be blessed by God, when we don't offer creative on-ramps for giving.
