A Little Crazy

Who hasn’t thought, “Well, I’ve seen it all now!” Sometimes people get a crazy idea which backfires. We begin running away from our mistakes. We run like our hair is on fire. What’s the most outrageous, funniest thing you’ve seen recently? What has made you laugh?  

Connie is always watching hilarious animal videos online. She has favorites with voice overs of people speaking as dogs and cats. She will sit in the recliner laughing out loud. Her laughing often is funnier than the video. She says I am way too serious; needing to loosen up. She may have a point. 

We also religiously watch taped episodes of America’s Funnest Video’s. This is where she gets ideas for pranking people. If I let her loose, she’s a big prankster at heart. I complain (often) her funny videos are all alike. They just change the names of the victims. Someone is always falling down stairs; getting hit with with a flying object. Yet, I admit, many of these videos win prizes and money. People like to laugh. Laughing is a big business.

This weekend we’re taking a look at Romans chapter 9 in the Bible. I promise this message will be relevant and helpful. I hope it makes you smile. I describe people like us, who discover God is for us, even on our worst day. We’ll lean into the promises of God in the Bible, helping not give up. Finally, we discover the necessity of bending our priorities to His. Faith is a daily leap of faith. We can do this. Are you in?

Sometimes people make funny videos of our boo boo’s. Other times we listen to a funny stories. Either way, a little humor can ease the pain when life goes crazy.
