All of us who daily follow Jesus are trying to be genuine people. The break down happens in every-day-walk-around-life because we’re not Jesus. Nobody gets it right all the time. Everyone has a few trouble spots, even after getting our Jesus story started. So, where might we look in the Bible for help? Where should we focus attention for a few weeks—fine tuning our faith?

Glad you asked? We’ve got a brand new summer series about to drop. This series is straight forward and clear. Just right for helping people like us make progress in our every-day-walk-around-faith with Jesus and others. We begin a short four week series from a no-nonsense, straight shooter, sort of guy. His name is James, author of the Book of James in the Bible.

James is a leader in the early, first century church in Jerusalem. This James is the half-brother of Jesus. Did you know Jesus had siblings? Jesus' miraculous birth is through the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:25). Later, after Jesus' miraculous birth, Joseph and Mary have four sons and two daughters listed as half-brothers and sisters of Jesus (Mark 6:3).

James is originally seen as a bit of a doubter. Having grown up in the same home with Jesus, James was reluctant to get on board. Later, after Jesus’ resurrection, James now becomes a strong leader in the early Jerusalem church. His words in the Bible are spoken with boldness, insight and authority. We all should take a few notes. Grow our faith deeper. Good plan.

James emphasizes practical Christian living and the importance of good works (service/kindness/love)… evidence of genuine faith. James encourages God’s people to act like God’s people with consistent living. James contends faith should produce authentic, genuine actions. Simple church: Do something good!

James words inspire us to BE more.. DO more… BELIEVE more. When medium, mediocre, or average faith will not do, what’s next? This short Book of James is just the sort of inspiration we need to begin. Are you in? Bring a friend. Let’s do this.

Join us this weekend—Journey Church Sat@6pm or Sun@10:30am. Check out James 1:1-27  for part one—got TROUBLES… WHICH WON’T LEAVE. Seriously, what’s the deal with trials in our life? How can we become stronger?

Go God!
