Be Nice to Mom

It doesn’t feel right to just name it another holiday on the calendar. The first official Mother’s Day was held on May 10,1914. Congress passed a bill to make the second Sunday in May a national holiday, which President Woodrow Wilson signed into law.

Mother’s Day in America is a big deal. There are cards, gifts, and meals to be shared by mostly everyone. Moms are truly deserving. Mom’s are also really busy. They always have been. Mom’s deserve the recognition from everyone. Although it’s great to have a national holiday each year, Mother’s Day is more than a date to remember on the calendar. Make it a regular habit each day, to say, “Thank You, Mom!”
Join us this weekend (May 10/11) at Journey Community Christian Church in Cynthiana for Mother’s Day celebration. We have some special touches just for MOM’s enjoyment planned for you and your family. There is another photo opportunity with our Journey Mother’s Day backdrop. A Journey volunteer will help you record a photo on your smart phone device.
In addition we are serving some of the famous Burley Market cinnamon rolls on the Journey coffee bar. Our kids ministry in their classrooms are prepping a Mom Day gift to bring home also. We have a free book as a take-home gift for Mom’s Day to relax in her easy chair later.
Bryan Martinez, our Youth and Family Minister, will be sharing a helpful Mother’s Day message from the Bible which is inspiring and supportive. I am traveling later this week and weekend. I will join you in the Journey audience on Sunday, Mother’s Day. Let’s fill up the building again. We’ve seen our audience increase all year, especially since Easter. Our crowds return and bring new guests.
Whatever your plans for Mother’s Day 2025, be NICE to Mom. If you’re in town, nearby, join us at Journey Church in person/online. Let us help make your Mom feel special. Join with all our Mom’s this year in our Journey worship weekend services.
Let’s celebrate everything MOM 2025 !
