“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’ ” John 14:6

This morning I am out of town. Staying in a hotel for a 3-day conference. As I tried to connect to the internet services, there was no connection. As I spoke with the hotel representative he said, “Everything is down. It’s a larger problem; not just our hotel. The corporate office for these hotels internet system is still down, overnight.”

The representative at the front desk of the hotel was trying to be helpful. Clearly, he felt a bit flustered. Can you imagine how many times, this morning, he’s been asked, “What’s wrong with the internet?” "We’re working on it" was written on his face.

Technology is great—when it works. Like using Google Maps as we travel. Having a voice who is computer generated, guiding us safely to our destination. How did we ever travel in the past with those big, fold-out, atlas maps? Modern day helpful computer generated voice guides us. This works great until there is an “outage” of some kind, like at the hotel this morning where I’m staying.

Suddenly, if the voice stops talking—we’re asked to “reroute” for traffic, accidents, construction, or other unforeseen events—panic strikes. Now where are we going? Having your personal assistant guide us to our destination is wonderful—until, we need a real person.

This weekend at Journey Church Cynthiana we’re taking a look at Romans Chapter 3 in the Bible. Aren’t you glad the verse above from John chapter 14 assures us Jesus is never unavailable? Our connection with God, through Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and the Church never goes down, offline for technical reasons.

The key thought this weekend in Romans is God’s Amazing Grace. No matter how turned around, confused, lost and concerned, God is nearby to help. Learning how to ask God for help is a new lesson for most of us. We’re quite confident with our abilities to figure things out, until something tragic happens. Then what? What’s next?

Join us Journey Sat@6pm/Sun@10:30am. We’ll share and discuss how God is vital—more than the internet. He is the One who is the BEST at helping us find our Way. Jesus is the Way for everyone. Tell someone. Invite them to join you and check things out.

PS - Maybe say a prayer for the guy at the front desk. He’s still answering questions, “Hey, what’s wrong with the internet?”
