“6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything (every circumstance, and situation) by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your (specific) requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God (that peace which reassures the heart, that peace) which transcends all understanding (that peace which) stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (is yours). (John 14:27).  Philippians 4:6-7 AMP

Today, on the 24th anniversary of 9/11 our world needs more peace from above. Our world has changed dramatically since planes flew into the Twin Towers in New York City. Some for better, some, not so much. In a sad irony, yesterday, we learned of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, popular Christian speaker on a college campus. The search continues for his killer as I write this today.

There are moments in life (like 9/11 and yesterday’s news) which unhinge our confidence in the world. We need God and Jesus our Savior every day to help stabilize and reassure our peace on earth. If you are feeling a bit shaken by recent events of murders, crime, corruption, floods, fires, wars, and unrest in the world, focus on the text printed above. The Apostle Paul himself, while writing those words, faced many hardships—one of which was imprisonment for his faith.

Our world, since Genesis chapters one and two, Garden of Eden, fall of mankind, sorrow, and death, evil world, flood and redemption, Jesus and the Cross, has struggled for hope. Jesus conquering death is Truth—Good News forever, for all who believe; forgiveness, grace and Good News of eternal life  (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

This weekend at Journey Church Cynthiana we’re sharing another part of the text (Romans 2:1-16) where the Apostle Paul describes vividly our world without Jesus—causes chronic anxiety, hopelessness. But—Jesus brings great JOY! This text will help us shake away fears and find renewed confidence, sharing Good News with everyone.

Bring a friend. Journey Sat@6pm/Sun@10:30am.  “God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.”  Psalm 46:1 NIV

The whole world has been a mess of problems, forever. Jesus is the peace of the world. Let’s help other people discover what Christians have known. Jesus changes everything. Feeling anxious? Try more God!

“38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, not anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NIV.

Peace, hope, and love in our anxiety. Go God.
