“Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” Ephesians 5:15-17 NIV

May I be one of the first to wish you Happy New Year! It is my prayer this year — each of us can discover God’s will, in everything. As the verse above describes, we’ll need God’s help in order to accomplish this. “Lord, may You give us more of Your wisdom each day, during the New Year ahead. In Jesus Name. Amen.”
Being careful, guarding our hearts is a tricky thing when living, busy, hurried lives each morning. While slugging down coffee or hot tea, grabbing a piece of toast with jelly, and running out the door to our daily adventure, know this — God is with us! You and I are not flying solo; we’re never alone, even when feeling lonely.
Every person alive on earth can find comfort this year knowing God is rooting for our success. Family and friends who are searching for hope can have their own Jesus awakening this year. God is for everybody. Not everybody knows. We have to tell everybody.
Jesus changes everything, every day, every New Year. Go God! This weekend I’ll share a New Year 2026 message for Journey Community Christian Church. Why not invite a friend, family member, or both to join us. Help someone (anyone) get the New Year started right with these thoughts: Getting the best each day in our lives with Jesus.
If you want a little teaser for where the message is coming from in the Bible, check out Joshua 14:6-14. I have outlined 4 R’s from this text in the Bible which describe Caleb as “Mr. Enthusiasm”. Who doesn’t want to get the New Year started with a little boost of enthusiasm? As a matter of fact, I believe the secret sauce to our success in 2026 is just two words: POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
If many of your plans last year got wrapped around the “axle” of disappointments, let me help you begin a new pivot, in a new direction, fresh start, which God describes in the Bible is possible for everyone. Go God!
This weekend, let’s dig a little deeper, below the surface, finding deeper faith, discovering the benefit of new God changes — planting new “seed” for greater growth and reward in 2026.
Go God! Happy New Year 2026.
