There is a growing niche of innovative careers for people as social media influencers. Some of the people we follow on social media platforms have created a unique revenue stream. They are using informative words through daily bloggers, weekly articles and podcasts to share insight and inspiration for public view.
This new style of media using modern technology for communication is a good template for all Jesus followers. Share your Jesus message with your own social audience. Grab something small but good everyday and post on social media platforms where your friends already travel. Your brief but consistent Jesus thought may create a thirst and interest from friends and acquaintances online. Go God!
One of Jesus' final actions on earth before returning to heaven, was commission His disciples to take the Good News of God’s Kingdom to everyone (Matthew 28:19-20). Regular people were empowered by the Holy Spirit to be Jesus ambassadors for good will in their world. He sent them out to a mission which would change the world. Tell the world, God is for them (John 3:16).
Next show them how much God cares. Right now Journey Church is partnering with two Journey friends who are traveling back and forth to Western NC helping with flood relief. We’ve given cash. We’ve found they need immediate cash. We’ve sent our friends off with $1,000 cash from your gifts in the Tide Jug. This is our pocket change weekly mission to share wherever needs are greatest. Go God. If you’re curious to learn more, join us this weekend.
You can join the team. We’ll grab a few words from the Apostle Paul’s words in Galatians 5:13-26. The Bible tells us sharing our Jesus message is most effective when spoken with kindness. People are washing clothes in a bucket like olden times. They still have no electricity in some places. We give away cash gifts for food & laundry detergent. Show a little emotion for the Jesus story for everyone.
Are you in? Want a head start - here are 3 R’s in this text which are essential for making a positive impact (like flood relief) with our Jesus story every time:
1- Be responsible. Create an atmosphere of positivity. Caution: judgment is not a good vibe. Watch your words. Love people. Do good stuff. Give away the Jesus blessing. Even to people different than us; living far away, or next door.
2- Be redemptive with others. Let Jesus clean up our own messy life. We all “leak.” Just like oil under a car. Before pointing a finger at others check our own driveway. Let Jesus look under the hood.
3- Be real with Jesus and others. Our Christian life is basic stuff. Like nuts and bolts and boards to build a house. We need to keep adding more Bible. prayer, and sacrifice with a servant’s heart. Build stronger with God’s materials.
Remember when people would help strangers in need? Or how neighbors looked out for neighbors? Let’s do THAT again. This weekend we review basic instructions for our BEST life. Let’s try to have better manners every day. Are you in? Bring a seat buddy. Help them check things out. We are better together. Go God! Be a Jesus influencer.
