Practicing Before Easter

I am not embarrassed to make this public. I am pretty happy with the results. For the last 10/11 weeks now, at Journey Church Cynthiana, we’ve been stuck on just ONE trending topic: Easter 2025. The last three sermon series have addressed some part of the Easter event known as JESUS around the world. Do YOU know Him? Everyone should. He is our Good News we’ve all been looking for in this journey of life.

I have humorously (truthfully, also) kept repeating we’re “practicing” Easter before it gets here. We need the practice; everybody does. This weekend is our final message before Easter. We are expecting everyone is primed and ready to celebrate Jesus and His resurrection with family, friends, and guests.
The sentiment of everyone (people) might be best described (check it out on YouTube) by singer/songwriter, Toby Mac in his song, “I could use a little church right now.” It’s never too late for anybody. Jesus changes everything. His irresistible message is hope, generosity, mercy, and compassion. Having a Jesus relationship is our real, forever treasure. Jesus is more, way more, than we can imagine.
There is plenty of compelling evidence about WHO Jesus is. He is Good News for the world (John 3:16). The Bible clearly guides us HOW to join team Jesus. This is not like having a gym membership to get in better shape. This is transformative change. God works His magic inside our minds and hearts. When we announce our faith in Jesus, confess our sin, repent, and are baptized everything is new. YOU are new again. Jesus is for YOU.
WHY should we plan our own Jesus decision? Why get on board now? It’s all true. Jesus is our Savior. He really did conquer death. We can too. Jesus can be trusted. Easter becomes like “signing day” for our team Jesus. Easter weekend you can renew your commitment with God or start one brand new. Let us help you schedule your baptism for Easter weekend. What a great moment to celebrate your Jesus decision with your family and friends.
Join us this weekend at Journey in person/online for final episode before Easter: Jesus… you can trust Him. It’s all true.
