Max Lucado is one of my favorite speakers, authors, teachers, and ministers. We’ve never met in person or had a formal introduction. We’ve not even shook hands. I’ve heard him speak in person at events several times. My wife was briefly in a small group years ago in Andrews, Texas with his wife, Denalyn. Though we’ve never formally met, I feel like we’re friends. We’ve both spent a lot of time doing ministry in the Texas Southwest. The scope of his ministry is quite large all over the world.  He and his wife have three married daughters and four grandchildren. Max lives in San Antonio, Texas.

I just saw a short video of a picture on a billboard of Max Lucado in Times Square. Max has released another book this week, “Tame Your Thoughts.” He is a prolific writer. I have used most of his books through the years with small groups and discussion. He is often described as one of America’s favorite authors. You should consider grabbing a copy of his new book and check it out for yourself.

The release of his book fits really well with my final message this weekend at Journey Church Cynthiana. We wrap up our short summer series from the Bible, simply titled, JAMES. This final lesson helps us discover 4 basic rules from the Bible which are for everyone. These simple but clear directives from the Bible will help ensure fewer struggles and squabbles between people everywhere.

Common sense leads us to understand people have misunderstandings and disagreements even on our best days.  Whether it is a family heading South for one more late summer vacation, or a high stakes business meeting between co-workers wanting to avoid an impasse in their planning, we all need a little help. This last outline guides us to consider a few principles every school teacher, mom and dad, business executive, or neighbor speaking to neighbor across the street street might use.

If you are ready for a little practical and useful advice found in this little gem in the Bible, the Book of James, join us in person and online Journey Sat@6pm/Sun@10:30am. Unless we have a little clarity, even Siri can take us on a wild goose chase. Everybody has opinions about how too settle disputes. Come and check out what James, the half-brother of Jesus had to say about this very real topic. People are just people. Even in Jesus blended family. Wow!

Tame Your Thoughts. Go God.
