Things We Notice

A few weeks ago I brought a large, bright yellow mum and placed it by our Journey Church front door. You would not believe the number of people who commented, “Wow, it really is beautiful!” God has given us our eyes to see more. In Kentucky we can see bright, brilliant fall colors everywhere. For my colorblind friends, trust me, this is an amazing time of year filled with fall colors to enjoy.

In a similar way, we notice people which grab our attention. Little children and babies cause a mother’s and father’s face to light up. The color of their eyes and shape of their nose is nearly perfect from a parents perspective. We notice every little feature which makes them special to us. Children are a blessing, always.
This weekend at Journey Church we are taking a look at Romans 6:1-23 in the Bible. This is the part where the Apostle Paul is teaching us to lean in with God. The Bible encourages us to not grow weary of doing good things. If you’ve been struggling for positive vibes lately, join us this weekend and let God take over.
God helps us notice the fall colors, and the rainbow in the sky after a rain. He also helps us marvel at the handiwork in all of His creation. Each person born into our world is God’s miracle. We may arrive with challenges, hardships, and serious illness at times. However, God sees us all as people with great potential.
We notice when people facing hardships, often trust God more. This weekend I’ll share 3 thoughts from the Romans 6:1-23 in the Bible—3 things needed to move to NEXT LEVEL of trust and faith with God. This is an outline everyone can use and make applicable in their life.
The last couple of weeks our fall weather has begun to significantly cool down at night. Early this morning, driving to the office, I noticed a light frost on some grassy areas in the low spots. Chilly temperatures near freezing are not far behind. I’ve noticed a young lady walking, early morning, somewhere, with a backpack and hoody. If you are waking to work in the morning darkness, bundle up.
God gives us our eyes for vision to enjoy His beauty. But, also to notice the needs we see around each day. I’m praying now when I see this person, “Lord, if Journey Church can help in some way with her transportation to work, or permanent housing, or warm clothing, help me find what is needed. In Jesus Name.”
See you this weekend. Journey Sat@6pm/Sun@10:30am. Look for God’s beautiful colors all around us. Also, look for those needs—which we might help make better. Go God!
