What’s your typical day like? Do you carpool your kids to school and back with gridlock in the parking lot? Are you early to rise, off to work each morning, working your way through heavy city traffic? Maybe you’re retired and begin each day with a cup of coffee and morning news? Just thought I would ask. There are typical days for many of us.
My typical day as a minister is probably much like yours. The specifics may vary, but most of us are moving around throughout the day. I have a short, seven mile, rural, county commute to the Journey Church office in town. Heavy morning traffic for me is likely a few Amish buggies, several nutty, unpredictable squirrels, and a couple farm tractors to avoid.
Just now, while walking through the parking lot, I spoke to the Auto Zone technician. He’s our neighbor at the shopping center where Journey is located. He was replacing a car battery on his own car. If you’re needing a car battery the best place to work on that day is a car parts retail store called Auto Zone.
If you needed to see a doctor or nurse, being employed at the local medical clinic or hospital would come in handy. Sooner or later, everybody has an untypical day and needs support, encouragement, or a little help. We’re all just people, whatever our typical day might be.
This weekend at Journey Church Cynthiana we jump back into the Bible with our current series, FREE. We take a look again at Galatians. This time Chapter 3:10-14. In this part we discover that even at church, our typical day is not always typical. Then what?
What is next when our typical solutions in life no longer work? When we need more? I believe Jesus is more. Jesus changes everything. Jesus is our untypical solution to our typical problems. He is more. Way more. He is the One and Only UN-TYPICAL answer to our typical problems as people.
When getting another job is not enough? When searching for solutions with a new medical team doesn’t help? Where do go, where do we look for something not so typical? If this sounds relevant to you, join us and bring a seat buddy. We are better together.
Journey Church Cynthiana Sat@6pm, Sun@10:30am. I promise you will find help if you will just lean in; pull up your chair as we seek more God together! Who hasn’t felt a little discouraged? "My tire is flat. And my spare is flat? What then?"
Jesus Gets Us… He understands life’s frustrations.
Whatever challenges you or your family and friends are facing right now, Come And See. Check things out this weekend. We like to say: Jesus is the Main Event. Jesus changes everything.
Even in our typical world with untypical moments.
