Welcome to Thursday, March 2nd, 2023. Do you have a plan for the remainder of the year? Nationwide Life Insurance has several, short, TV commercials stating their tag line, “Life comes at you fast.” The apparent business plan is built around people buying insurance for unexpected events in life.
Do you have insurance? We are all just people. We get things tangled and messy really quick. In the text above King David in the Bible was having a hard time controlling his emotions. Evil minded people were constantly pursuing him, making false charges. On our worst days, we may be, both, angry and depressed in a matter of hours. It’s nice when we find some reassurance, like an insurance agent, saying, “It’s going to be OK.”
God is not our insurance agent; He is more. He is our good, good Father. David continued to pray and wrote a few verses later, God will straighten things out. “Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone.” Psalm 37:10 NLT
Some days we have to talk ourselves down from cliffs of despair. What does one do when our insurance policy doesn’t cover “that,” whatever it may be? David urges us to trust God and turn to Him for guidance. With God’s help we learn to put aside anxious, angry thoughts.
We’re never alone in this world for even a moment. The best thing we can do is continue with faith and actions representing God. He is always there to help us. Trust God more. Believe God more. Follow God more. Get to know God personally.
This weekend at Journey Community Christian Church we share another relevant life lesson from the Bible. GOOD CALL: NO MORE D.I.Y ,taken from 1, 2, 3 John. This is the same John who authors the Gospel of John and Revelation. John became a leader in the early church in Jerusalem (Galatians 2:9).

Churches everywhere are preparing for record numbers of people for Easter - April 9.
